Laymen's Cup Podcast

The Laymen are four men, who love God first, then their wives and children. We have a deep desire to study God’s Word and to live on mission for him. As we study God’s Word, we love to break it down and discuss it in a way that everyone can understand. We are not scholars, even though some of us wish we were. We are normal men with normal jobs trying to figure out how to Glorify God and live a life on mission for him.

On this Friday Preview we discuss the upcoming Golf Tournament. If you want to give you can do so at https://www.purecharity.com/laymens-cup-golf-tournament.

Jul 17, 2016

Today's episode is the second half of our conversation with Matt. He is a blogger from Texas. We discuss soteriology. That is the theology of how people are saved. It is our hope that this conversation drives our listeners to the Scriptures. That is our goal with all of our shows, that it will drive people to the Word of God and help seek out the truth one sip at a time.

Thank you for listening. If you are listening on iTunes please subscribe and leave a review. If you have comments or questions for us, you can email us at laymenscup@gmail.com. We also have videos you can view here on our website or on Youtube. We are on Facebook at www.facebook.com/laymenscup. You can also follow us on Instagram and Twitter @laymenscup.

We had he privilege of having Black Rifle Coffee Company. Do yourself a favor and click the link and go buy some coffee. They are a small batch roasting company that is owned by veterans. What that means is that when you buy the coffee, they roast it and then ship it. They also support the Wounded Warriors Project.

As you have heard already, we are hosting a charity golf tournament. On July 30th we will have the first annual Laymen’s Cup Golf Tournament. It will be at Glenn Oaks Golf Club in Maiden, NC. Please come out and play. All proceeds will go to support Christian Family Services and Shaun’s adoption. If can't play, but still want to give you can do so at www.purecharity.com/laymens-cup-golf-tournament

It is always our hope to get the Gospel out to as many people as possible and you can help us by sharing the show. Word of mouth is the greatest way we will get the show out to the masses. Thank you.

Please pray for us, as we are praying for you.

The Laymen,

Kemp, Patrick, Shaun, and Wes.

In this show, we are talking to the police. The Laymen's hearts are heavy this week. With everything that went on in Louisiana, Minnesota and then in Dallas, our hearts ache for those lost. On today's show we spent time talking with an officer from Georgia, and our own Kemp, who also works as a police officer.  We wanted to talk through what a week like this means for our men and women who protect us on a daily basis. Also, we wanted to know how to pray for our police officers. What he said was to pray for wisdom, for their psychological health, and that may be a servant in need.

This FP we preview we discussed the upcoming Golf Tournament and our further discussion with Matt.

Jul 3, 2016

In today's episode, it's the Laymen versus a Texan. A friendly debate, five men seeking the truth. In this episode we had a great conversation with Matt, who is one of the authors of http://douloicristou.com. This is a blog about theology. What is great is that Matt disagrees with us, but ends up having great conversation about salvation. We walk through Paul's soteriology -  his theology of salvation. There are two distinct views. The Laymen would say that all the responsibility of salvation is on God. Romans 3 tells us that no one can responds to God. Matt, believes that it is up to the person is to respond to salvation. He he uses the example of Noah and Abraham.
